WHEN IS IT NEEDED?
In Queensland a Caravan Safety Certificate is needed when:
Transferring a Queensland registration to a new owner of the Caravan or Camper Trailer when its sold.
or
When transferring to Queensland registration from another state or territory in Australia.
or
When re-registering an unregistered Caravan or Camper Trailer
Caravan and Camper Trailer requiring a Safety Certificate of Compliance are:
Caravan and Camper trailer with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) between 750kg and 4,500kg.

On site Requirements - these are recommendations to make is easier on the day
- Hard flat level ground, concrete or the road is a preferred area to work on as we will need to jack your caravan or camper trailer up to check brakes and bearings.
Things you should check to make sure there are no hick ups on the day
- Check all of your Caravan or Camper Trailer lights work, Stop, Tail, Side Lights, Forward Lights, Rear Top Marker Lights and Number Plate Light
- If you have a brake safe system or a breakaway unit make sure it works, generally these units never get checked and they don't work when you want them to. We do carry spare batteries for them so if it doesn't work don't stress. ​
